Bounce Rate - What to do and why:
What is bounce rate control? News GaeilgeThere are a few points that need to be made first:

  1. Not all visitor counters work well enough the detect whether a particular visitor is on the site for a given time. there are times when a visitor will spend some time reading the landing page without another click. When he clicks to close the page his stay is measured as zero - check it for yourself!
  2. If the visitor clicks to another page immedialty he reaches the landing page and then closes that second page after he has read the content. - his stay is measured as zero - check it for yourself!
  3. Bounce Rate problems are not as clear as they seem. Any visitor may spend time on the site, but his visit is included in the Bounce Rate stats as his visit is measured as a "bounce" because the recordng of the visit is faulty - this is a common fault and could account for half of all "bounces".
  4. Comments would be welcomed.
